PSYCHOLOGYWe do take into account psychological issues while we investigate, we do not look up the history of the place before investigating.
We write down anything that happens on an investigation when it happens, this is to rule out the brain distorting anything that has happened as the brain can fill in false information after an event and/or the brain can change information and therefore true accounts may become partially false.
We also try not to discuss anything that happens while on an investigation everything is written down and discussed at the end of the investigation, this rules out mass hysteria and the power of suggestion. Sometimes this is hard to do under some circumstances but we do this 99% of the time.
If we split up into groups and then meet to swap locations we do not discuss what has happened, this becomes very interesting when you have similar activities happen by each group in one location at different times, this also rules out power of suggestion.
When notes are taken, times and where in the location the activity has taken place is also noted, the notes can be compared for any comparisons. I am given the notes at the end of the night and I type the reports from the notes, all notes are kept in an archive for furture reference if they are ever needed.
Because of psychological reasons we do not drink alcohol while on an investigation even if we are investigating a premise that sells alcohol, you need a clear mind to investigate.
